Drum Carriage, French - Unavailable until further notice.
Made of English Buff leather, this 4 inch wide sling extends up the chest, over the shoulder to where it tapers to 3 inches wide, and down the back. The narrow leather straps stitched to the tips of the sling are tied to the drum. A matching leather drumstick keeper is stitched to the front. So I can make this carriage the proper size please provide me with a measurement taken from where the bottom of the carriage (and top of the drum) is to be, up the chest, over the shoulder, and down the back to the other end of the carriage and drum.

Drum Carriage , British, black leather - Unavailable until further notice.
English Buff leather - Unavailable until further notice.
Made in accordance with Cuthbertson's specifications (pg.104, XXXVI) "The Drum carriages...should be of buff leather, the Breadth and colour of the Sword Belts...and as a carriage slung from the neck, places the Drum more conveniently for the performance of the beatings, than hanging it from the shoulder...two leather loops, about half an inch broad, should be stitched on each side of them, at the distance of a foot asunder to run the Drumsticks thro'." "...the Loops on the Drum-majors Belt to be entirely on the left side..." This 2 inch wide carriage is available in black leather and buff leather.

At the base of the sling is a hand forged steel J-shaped hook sewn into two layers of leather from which the drum is suspended. An optional proper brass buckle ($12.00) can be attached behind the neck for adjusting sling height. So I can make this carriage the proper size please provide me with a measurement taken from where the hook is to be, up the chest, around the neck, and back down the chest to the hook. For an adult this measurement will likely be approximately 60 inches. If this carriage is for a drum major please let me know so I can sew the drumstick loops in the proper place.

Note: the style of drum carriage that uses a ring instead of a hook does not seem to have been used until the 1880's when it first appears in the catalogues of Henry Potter & Co. They supplied the British army with drums since the early 1800's.

Drummers Apron - Unavailable until further notice.
Made of natural cowhide leather, this square apron with integral belt with proper buckle, extends to the knees and helps prevent the drum from wearing away the cloth from the left thigh of the breeches. Worn with the rough (flesh) side of the leather outwards. One corner can be turned up and buttoned to the waistbelt, if desired, for ease of marching. Please state belt size desired and your height.
